The Dilemma

John and Melissa came in looking to upgrade their dated pedestal table. Taking multiple trips to our showroom and spending hours at a time, John and Melissa debated back and forth on numerous ideas. From the trendy rustic farmhouse look to the more modern rustic style. Ultimately they decided to blend the two looks to create their own.

Designing the Perfect Pedestal Table

Wanting to create a welcoming feel for their kitchen they decided to choose the Ashley Double Pedestal Table (unavailable online). The graceful curved pedestals of the Ashley Double Pedestal Table gives the table a more modern appeal. Since they live at work often at the table they wanted to something that was going to last them over the years. They decided on Oak for the table top since it gave a more “at home” feel, is a strong solid wood, and didn’t break the bank.

For the base they chose Brown Maple because of the painted glaze base. This gave the table a more aged look but since the Ashley Double Pedestal Table leans more modern it helped make the table transition well between the looks. The white painted base gives the table a more vibrant look and calls upon the traditional country home styles.

Since they work so much at their kitchen they wanted a chair they could sit in for 2 hours and not feel a difference. We suggested our highly comfortable Houghton Dining Chair. The curved lumbar back conforms well to the curve of your spine creating a natural and comfortable feeling. John and Melissa added a cushion seat for extra comfort and to pair the design of the chair better with the table.
