  • *Wood Choice

    Choose what kind of you wood you'd like your piece made out of. You can learn more about each different kind of wood. Woods shown are their natural tones. Different finish options are available on all wood types.

    *Knots

    All tops will have major knots filled. Available to be filled in with black epoxy on the whole piece.

    *Lumber Choice

    Available with select wood. Select woods are premium choice lumber that provide a greater chance to remove unfavorable characteristics such as sap streaks, pits, large rustic knots, heavy color variation, and more.

    Note: There is not a 100% guarantee you'll get the exact type of lumber selection but instead is to increase your odds of receiving it. Natural variations and tones are a given on a natural product. Certain products are built in ways (feature end cuts, specific glue ups, etc) that can not be omitted which can lead to variations.

    Select the size of the bed.

    *Bed Frame

    If headboard only is requested there will not be any hardware included with the hardware to attach a frame. You will be responsible for attaching any frame to the headboard.

    Storage units are only available with a complete bed or headboard only. Complete beds will include headboard and footboard. Headboard only paired with a storage unit will not feature a footboard.

    *Headboard Height

    Choose either the standard headboard height or customize it to be taller or shorter.

    *Customized Headboard Height

    Enter in the desired headboard height. Height is based off inches.

    *Footboard Height

    Choose either the standard footboard height or customize it to be taller or shorter. Please note if a customized footboard is paired with a storage unit, certain heights may not be possible due to platform height.

    *Footboard Choice

    Select the style of low footboard. Click or hover to see footboard height.

    *Platform Unit

    Available with an optional platform storage unit.

    Available with optional storage platform unit. Platform storage units do not require a boxspring and will serve as the foundation for a mattress. Certain storage units are based on whether drawers are one one or both sides.

    Distressing

    Distressing is a mixture of different techniques to create the look of antique furniture that has aged naturally into a beautifully patina.  

    Top Coat

    Our top coat is standard with Formaldehyde however you can request for a Formaldehyde free top coat. Formaldehyde free top coats are not bonded as well and are considered weaker than our standard top coat.

    Sheen

    Standard top coat is 30 sheen (semi-gloss). Available with your choice sheen level.

    Note: The natural oils from your hands can rebuff parts of the top coat making it glossy again on lower sheens.

    Optional Two-Tone Finish

    Solid stains are standard. Two-tone finish, the mix of two different stains, is available. If a premium finish is involved with a two-tone appearance, the premium finish must be chosen as your primary stain choice.

    Select the primary stain as your choice and then describe how you would like your piece finished. If a premium finish is desired with a two-tone look be sure to select that premium finish as your primary choice.

Measuring for Tallest Point

To determine the longest possible measurement of a piece of furniture—such as when fitting it through a doorway or stairwell—you often need to find the diagonal distance from one bottom corner to the opposite top corner. This diagonal represents the true "tallest point" when the piece is rotated at an angle, which is especially important if you're trying to tilt or maneuver it into a space.

You calculate this diagonal using the Pythagorean theorem, which is a method for finding the hypotenuse of a right triangle. In this case, the width and height of the furniture (66 inches wide and 38 inches tall) form the two shorter sides of a right triangle. By squaring both of those values, adding them together, and then taking the square root of the result, you get the diagonal length: √(66² + 38²) = √(4356 + 1444) = √5800 ≈ 76.16 inches.

This means that when the furniture is angled, it needs at least 76.16 inches of clearance to pass through an opening without hitting corners.

CONSTRUCTION

  • Each piece is made-to-order and our craftsmen will follow your specifications from start to finish.
  • ⅝" thick Wormy Maple drawer boxes have lots of character and rounded top edges.
  • Dovetailed front and back drawer boxes ensure a sturdy foundation for storing clothing.
  • Solid hardwood tops and sides for unmatched quality.
  • Soft close hinges standard on all doors prevent doors from slamming shut and instead smoothly close on their own.
  • All tops below eye level (front two corners) will come slightly rounded.
  • Dovetail slat construction with 4 slats per bed
  • King size beds have four support legs
  • Queen size beds have two support legs
  • Full/twin beds do not require support legs
  • Brackets are made of steel, providing the strongest construction
  • Bracket is fastened to the head & foot boards by two hardened steel lag bolts
  • Brackets have a ledge on the bottom for the rail to rest on, so all the weight is on the bracket
  • Requires a boxspring or form of foundation (IE bunkie boards) for mattress

CARE OF SOLID WOOD FURNITURE

  • Place your furniture away from radiators, fireplaces, and heating ducts.
  • Position furniture out of direct sunlight or adjust blinds to avoid hour after hour of direct sunlight.
  • Control humidity to 40%–45%. In winter use a humidifier, in summer use a dehumidifier or air conditioner.
  • Use coasters with non-scratching bottoms. Use padding under all sharp, hot, or cold objects.
  • Avoid using nail polish remover, alcohol, and other solvents near or on furniture.
  • Dust carefully with a soft cloth, following the grain pattern of the wood. Use an old T-shirt, baby diaper or cheesecloth that has been laundered to remove the sizing.

ROUTINE CLEANING AND CARE

  • Dust often to remove everyday abrasive particles from wood surfaces.
  • Consider cleaning with a mild non-alkaline soap and water. Use the suds in a damp sponge or cloth, but be sure to pre-test the solution on an out-of-sight section to make sure it doesn’t damage the finish. Dry immediately with a soft cloth and buff lightly, following the grain.
  • Don't wax or use any polish that contains any silicones! Catalyzed heat and moisture resistant finishes don’t need additional polish, but if you want to use a polish we recommend Parker & Bailey's Furniture Cleaner.
