Pertaining to Wooden Furniture

If cared for properly, your solid hardwood furniture can give you a lifetime of service and beauty. Here are care tips that will enhance your solid hardwood furniture investment:

  • Upon receiving your furniture please unwrap all pieces as soon as possible. In the weeks following delivery, your furniture will continue to cure and adjust to your home environment.
  • Maintain the humidity in your home within a 40%-45% range in order to prevent warping and cracking. An acceptable range is 30% to 60% humidity.
  • To clean your furniture, mild soap and water is recommended. If you want to use a polish, avoid products that contain silicone or wax; these will cause a build-up that might make it impossible for refinishing your piece in the future.
  • Also, apply and buff polish along the natural grain.
  • Avoid putting rough or sharp items on your furniture which can scratch the surface.
  • Avoid the use of nail polish remover or other harsh solvents by your furniture.

Pertaining to Wooden Tables

  • We recommend using a tablecloth or placements in the first couple weeks following delivery as your table is still curing and adjusting to your home.
  • If you purchased leaves with your table, store leaves in the same room as your table. Do not store leaves in an attic or basement where room temperatures may drastically vary. Use a leaf storage bag for optimal protection.
  • If the table is often used without the matching leaves, we recommend using a table cloth or other protective surface for daily use. Excessive rubbing and wiping can cause the sheens to vary between the table and leaves.
  • We do not recommend using glass to protect your table top. But, if you choose to, we recommend maintaining a gap between the glass and table top for airflow.

When completed rinse clean with warm water. If necessary reapply cleaner let set for 10 minutes then clean using a 2400 PSI high pressure washer. Do not place the tip of the high pressure washer closer than 12” -16” from the poly furniture to avoid marring the texture of your poly.

Proper Care and Maintenance for Poly furniture

Poly furniture is made from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), a recycled plastic that will never need to be painted or stained. It will not rot or splinter, and it contains an added UV protective agent to resist fading. Poly Furniture is not affected by most corrosive substances and will not promote bacterial growth.

Do not place flower pots or any items on the furniture that will leave stains. Do not place hot items directly onto the furniture to avoid melting.

All fasteners on poly furniture are stainless steel with most fasteners being chrome plated. Chrome plated stainless steal is a coated stainless steel and one of the most corrosive resistant fasteners on the market. However, in extreme conditions such as coastal areas, while chrome plated stainless steel will be less likely to rust, it is still recommended to regularly rinse it with fresh water to ensure the longevity of your furniture and fasteners.

If properly cared for, you will be able to relax in your fine piece of poly furniture for many years!
